Guides & how-tos

What does an IPL hair removal machine do?

IPL (intense pulsed light), often called "laser at home", sends flashes of light that target the pigment in dark hair. Over repeated sessions, many people notice slower, finer and patchier regrowth by session 4–6. It is hair reduction, not removal for good, so monthly touch-ups keep skin smooth. Results vary from person to person.

Which Signaxo IPL should you choose?

All three devices follow the same session plan, ship free and carry a 1-year warranty. Compare them on price and the controls listed on each product page.

Shine IPL₹7,549Simple, easy-to-use controlsYou want the lowest-priced way to start IPL at home

Wave IPL₹8,994Multiple intensity levelsYou prefer a multi-level system for larger areas like legs

Is IPL right for your skin and hair?

  • Best for skin Types I–IV (very fair to wheatish or medium brown) with dark hair.
  • Type V (deep brown): patch-test first and stay on the lowest level.
  • Not for Type VI (very deep brown to black) skin, or blonde, red, grey or white hair.
  • Don't flash over tattoos, moles or tanned skin, or near the eyes.
  • Pregnant or on photosensitising medicine? Ask your doctor first.

Not sure where you fall? The IPL skin-tone checker takes 30 seconds.

How often should you use IPL at home?

  1. Shave the area first. Don't wax or pluck, because IPL needs the root.
  2. Patch-test on the lowest level and wait 24 hours.
  3. Flash once every 2 weeks for the first 12 weeks.
  4. Then touch up about once a month.

Hormonal areas such as the chin can take longer. For 24 hours after each session, skip sun, hot showers and scrubs.

Is at-home IPL cheaper than salon laser or waxing?

Clinic laser is stronger and supervised, and it is priced per session. At-home IPL is a lower-cost, gradual option for suitable skin and hair. Put in your own numbers with the hair removal cost calculator, or read our at-home IPL vs salon laser guide.

What pairs well with an IPL routine?

Shave or trim before each session. A trimmer from our hair removal devices for home makes this quick. Afterwards, chilled ice globes from our face and grooming essentials help cool the skin.

Every order ships free across India, with cash on delivery available, a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects and 10-day returns on unused items in original packaging. Not sure which one fits you? WhatsApp us a photo. We'll tell you honestly.

Frequently asked questions

Does IPL remove hair for good?
No. IPL gives long-lasting hair reduction. After the first 12 weeks, a touch-up about once a month keeps skin smooth. Results vary from person to person.
Does IPL hurt?
Most people feel a warm snap with each flash. Start on the lowest level and increase only as far as feels comfortable.
Which skin tones can use at-home IPL?
IPL suits skin Types I–IV with dark hair. Type V should patch-test first. It is not for Type VI skin or for blonde, red, grey or white hair. Use our IPL skin-tone checker if you are unsure.
How many sessions before I see results?
Many people notice slower, finer, patchier regrowth by session 4–6, using the device every 2 weeks. Hormonal areas like the chin can take longer.
Can I use IPL on my face?
You can use it below the cheekbones, for example on the upper lip and chin. Never use it near the eyes, on moles or on tanned skin.
Is IPL the same as laser hair removal?
No. Clinic laser uses a single, stronger wavelength under supervision. IPL uses broad-spectrum light at home, so it is gentler and more gradual.
